Welcome to Kappo Andō!

Kappo is a Japanese word meaning “to cut and cook”, and it is referring to a more intimate, informal eatery where a selection of dishes can be seen prepared right in front of you by the chefs at the counter.

We offer a daily selection of seasonal seafood and vegetable dishes, and includes a selection of unique cuts of organic poultry, fish and meat grilled over binchotan charcoal on our yakitori grill, which brings deep and smoky flavours.

You can enjoy either a 7 course tasting menu or choose from our à la carte.

The beverage list includes one of the largest selections of craft sake in Scandinavia, and carefully chosen wines—both conventional as well as low intervention—along with craft beer, cocktails, soda, coffee, and tea.

Reservations can be made up to two months in advance." We happily accommodate walk-ins if there's seating available, so feel free to drop by anytime!

We also have a larger private dining room, where we can accommodate parties of up to 16 guests at regular tables, please contact us if you wish for more information about this.

The team behind Kappo Andō consists of Japan enthusiast and master sake sommelier Henrik Andō Levinsen, his wife—chef Akiko Andō Levinsen, and chef Mads Battefeld, who also runs the acclaimed Sushi Anaba in Nordhavn.

We’re looking forward to welcoming you!
